Tonight we featured our exclusive and long awaited interview with Pendragon front man, Nick Barrett. Nick joined us to talk about the recent Pendragon release titled Believe. Nick explained the writing, the production, and ideas for the latest offering. Nick was quick to say that there was a distinctly different approach to the recording of the new album compared to the previous by the manner of writing and production. Although the changes are subtle, it is still Pendragon. Our listeners responded well. Although I am not one for ‘politically motivated’ lyrics, the project did it with all good intentions. It definitely shows Pendragon in a new light.
We also featured the forthcoming disc from Tony Levin titled Resonator, featuring his brother Pete, and the usual gang, Jesse Gress, Larry Fast, and Jerry Marotta. This new disc, in my opinion, is a step beyond Pieces Of The Sun. The writing seems livelier and Tony lets loose. This is a must get for 2006. Another disc I featured which I really enjoyed through the course of the week was the new Overhead CD….but the big buzz is clearly the new archive Soft Machine. People have gone nuts for it. The disc had 23 more requests than the Tangent did in emails alone. I guess people really wanted a Soft Machine Bundles live archive finally.. Well, now they have it.
I am surprised how many of our listeners who listen to the replay following the show on Saturday would prefer me on in the middle of the night than at 10PM eastern.
Blimey!

This Program Ran 3Hours and 59 minutes.
