52 Degrees
161
I know I know...what took so long? ahhhhhhhhhh shuuuuuuuud aaahhhhhhp......Tonight we featured the new #1 disc from the Tangent titled A Place In The Queue. I wll go far as saying this is the finest new 'progressive rock' disc I have heard in while. GPS Culture is a great track and is getting the buzz as of now. The most calls tonight were on The Tangent again, followed by Popul Vuh. Our listenership peaked from 10:30 to 11:20. (The Tangent, Silver Lining, King Crimson). Apparently I was funny again tonight while I was doing the Stargazer's Handbook. A listener emailed and told me they were a bit disappointed that I laughed at the fact that our tenth planet and its moon, is being referred to as Xena and Gabrielle.... the TV warrior princess and her longtime companion. Wait...that's not funny? Trust me I think Xena is hot and all....but....Xena? Look...I'll go a step further. I never even WATCHED Xena. You are seriously going to name a planet Xena? Whoa.
At any rate..I couldn't help it, but at the end of the report, I started to laugh. Not a knock..but let's be real. Xena?
Roger was on board for us tonight and as always did great...Some things sound great on the radio. Something about radio enhances some things. Maybe I'm nuts. Playing National Health 'Tenemos Road' still makes the hairs stand on end. Ray Russell's Goodbye Svengali is a wonderful disc that is a must get. Very solid fusion, and if you love MMS, you will love this.
Anyway...Superbowl is coming up. I'm still getting over the Eagles crash and burn. But I feel that this game may be a surprise...I think Seattle will win. As much as I really could care less....the Superbowl has always been anti-climactic to me. It's the last game of the year. That sucks. Really sucks. No football anything till August. 'Cause seriously....who watches the Pro Bowl? I don't. And I live for football. And arena football, that is just a tease. (I still watch the Soul)
Anyway...time for a nap. I want to go in the Pines tomorrow. Final Score:
Seattle 31, Pittsburgh 17
At least either way, that's the combonation of points I see. Go bet it.
np: Sigur Ros - Takk (replay of show) A haunting tune that reminds me of August. The song is called Saeglopur.
Nite.
